So Excited About All of You Doing the Summer Devotions Pursuit!

Dear Friends,

Excitement and joy flood my heart as I think of, hear from, and pray for those of you who are doing the Summer Devotions Pursuit and seeking Jesus this summer!

Nothing in the world is like knowing Jesus.  It is worth every minute you spend seeking Him!  As you seek Him and He opens your eyes more and more to Who He is, you will never be the same!

Today as I met with Him, I was deeply blessed as He spoke to me through His Word and prayer and as I was able to journal what He is teaching me… I am so needy of Jesus and His Truth every day – and He is always so sufficient!  The more I know Him, the more I want to know Him even more!

This verse blessed me so much today, “Turn to me and be gracious to me, as is your way with those who love your name.”
  (Psalm 119:132)

I’d love to have you comment below and share what the Lord is doing and teaching you as you meet with Him!

May the Lord bless you so richly as you continue to meet with Him!  Nothing is more important, exciting, or life-changing!

Love in Jesus,
Amy

  1. Amy, it is such a pleasure to embark on a summer with Jesus once again. Jesus has already blessed my heart with His love, grace, and strength. In particular, He has reminded me that His secrets are with those who love Him. He is everything!

  3. I've been meditating on Isaiah 30:15 for a few days now. "In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength. Earlier in May I felt the Lord calling me to let some things go and to be with Him. He desires to be our Savior daily, not just a coming to Him for eternal salvation. I'm so excited for the summer and my time with the Lord.

Been thinking of and praying for you and your family, Amy.

    With love,
    Theresa

  4. I have been started reading through James for my devotions. I really like the book because I can clearly hear and meditate on what I need to be working on as a christian girl. What I have really been thinking about is when James talks about how faith without works is dead. I realize that while trying to focus on Jesus, I need to also live the life he has instructed me to. One of my goals for this summer is to obey him in my walk and do "the works", and not only read the bible have a faith in him.

Thank you so much for putting on the summer pursuit, I am looking forward to growing this summer.

    1. Julia, Thank you for sharing! James is such a wonderful book! That is so beautiful that the Lord made the importance of faith evident to you! We do live what we really believe. As you look to the Lord and He grants you faith - and you receive the Lord's grace to act on His Word, beautiful things will take place! I am excited for all that He has in store for you this summer!

  5. I'm reading the story of Elijah in 1 Kings. The Lord's answer to him when he felt like he was left alone is SO encouraging!
"And [Elijah] prayed that he might die, and said, 'It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!'...'I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life'...Then the Lord said to him...'Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.'"
    1 Kings 19
I am not alone...ever! He will never leave me nor forsake me! (Hebrews 13:5b-6)

    1. Mary, What an amazing truth and encouragement it is that as a child of God, you will never, ever be alone! He truly will never leave you or forsake you! May this only become more precious to you as you walk with Him!

  6. For my Summer Pursuit devotions, I have lately been reading through Isaiah and am really focusing on the beauty of being patient. Many verses in Isaiah talk about how the people were continually disobeying God, and yet "His hand was stretched out still". God is so patient; and it gives me an amazing example to follow. Now, whenever I feel like snapping or getting upset, I think of that verse - how, though continually the people rebelled and turned from God, He still stretched out His hand - and was patient with them! Now THAT is patience in it's most beautiful form, an example I am now striving to follow.

    1. Natalie, I am so grateful to the Lord for His patience, too! He is so infinitely kind! It is so beautiful to experience His patience with us - and then receive His grace to extend that patience to others! He is our example.
