A Note from Amy
I think of you and my heart is blessed. It is so beautiful to know that so many of you are seeking our Jesus across the miles, finding the true joy that only He can bring! He is truly amazing and we will never find true satisfaction apart from Him. We need Him so much every day!
Thank you to all of you who write, email, and post – I LOVE hearing from you, knowing what the Lord is doing in and through your lives, and praying for you. Please know that even if I cannot answer, I love you very much and am so glad to hear from you!
The book for young women is coming along. I am so excited for what the Lord is doing and all that He intends for the words He is giving! Writing a book is a very long process – but will be worth it in the end, just like everything Jesus calls us to do!
While the book is taking much of my time right now, the Lord is unfolding some exciting things for the days to come. I look forward to seeking Him together! Stay posted!
Know that I love you, am praying for you, and am so excited for what the Lord has in store as you continue to seek Him!
Jesus is what you are longing for. His Word is the Truth we can stand on. His will for you is perfect.
May you find such joy today in Jesus as you look to Him and walk in His ways!
Jesus is worth it,
Amy

A Testimony on Keeping a "Who Jesus Is" Journal
Without fail, studying Christ’s Character has increased the amount and fervency of my love for Him. As a result it has deepened my faithfulness to Him and ignited in me so much more praise. Often I think we put God in a box or see Him as we want to. Searching the scriptures to find His personality prevents this serious mistake and increases my faith and joy in Him. Getting to know Him better also helps me have more profitable conversation by sharing how He’s displayed a quality of Himself to me in a certain way. I would really encourage my sisters in Christ to make a journal of “Who He is”. Use His Word as your source…Time spent on your Savior is never wasted! ~ Anna

“30 Days of Loving Jesus by Looking at Who He Is” - Completed!
This week, the “30 Days of Loving Jesus by Looking at Who He Is” has officially come to completion. It has been amazing! If you have not had the chance to read all of the posts here on the blog, we encourage you to do so!*
We hope that for you this is just the beginning of a life of seeking to know and love Jesus more!
I want to encourage you in continuing this amazing journey of knowing Jesus yourself by sharing one thing that has been a big blessing to me in seeking to know and love Jesus for Who He is. This has been to keep a “Who Jesus Is” journal.
Ideas for keeping a "Who Jesus Is" Journal:
~ As you read your Bible, write down qualities of Who He is and verses/reference that tell you that. For example, “righteous and kind - Psalm 145:17, “The Lord is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works.”
~ Write down every time you discover something more about Him. This can be in reading His Word, in seeing Him real in your life, in someone sharing about Him, etc. Record how you saw it real in your life.
~ Use what you have written in your journal in your prayer time to worship and praise the Lord for Who He is. It is so beautiful to go through your journal and praise the Lord for all that He is! It glorifies Him and it blesses you as you focus on the amazing Lord you belong to!
My friends, it is SO important that you know Jesus and Who He is for yourself! That is when your life will be transformed. Don’t rest with just hearing about Him from others, but know Him for yourself! Someone wisely said, “What comes to your mind when you think of God is the most important thing about you.” This is because you will live your life in line with what you believe about God – What you believe will shape your life. Earnestly seek to know the Lord for yourself, friends! As you do, you will never be the same!
Psalm 9:10 is so true and is a beautiful promise to claim as you seek the Lord, “And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.”
We would love to have you share testimonies of what the Lord does and shows you as you seek Him by emailing us at info@lovingthelordministries.
Blessings as you seek to know our amazing Jesus for yourself!
I love you, sisters, and I love loving Jesus with you,
Amy Vest
for Loving the Lord Ministries
* A big thank you to every young woman who contributed a blog post on a quality of Jesus that they love! It was such a blessing to hear Who you have seen Him to be and to love Him more together!

Jesus is ~ All Powerful

What I love about Jesus: That He is, and always will be, all powerful.
A verse that talks about this: Psalm 62:11 "God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belonged unto GOD."
How I have seen this in my own life: Ultimately, I've seen His power first hand through my salvation. Before I was born again, reading Bible verses that talked about God's omnipotence, His supremacy, and His extreme Sovereignty would make me cower and fear, knowing what He had the power to do whatever He willed, and He would do it. It kept me awake at night, knowing that He had complete control of the universe, and had the power to end my life at any time. In the end, it was His power, that same power that I had so feared, that saved me. It was nothing that I could have done. He flooded me with conviction and a love for Him and His ways, saving me and giving me a whole new view of his magnificence. Now I look at Jesus' power as a blessing, knowing that my life and my future are solely in His hands. For a TRUE BELIEVER that is the best place to be ~ right in the center of HIS power! ~ Ruth

Jesus is ~ Peace
A verse about this: "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Do not let your year be troubled, nor let it be fearful." John 14:27
How I have seen this in my own life: I never cease to be amazed by how the Lord constantly gives me His peace right when I need it most. No matter how stressed I get or how difficult a situation may be that I’m walking through, He’s right next to me, holding my hand. He promises to never leave us or forsake us and I have seen this played out in my own life countless times! The Lord reminds me of His presence by showing me something in His Word that morning, by an encouraging message or conversation with a friend or even the comforting feeling that I can always turn to Him in prayer! The peace of the Lord truly does pass all understanding. ~ Katie

Jesus ~ Never leaves us

A verse about this: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
How I have seen this in my own life: Sometimes when I'm alone I feel scared and then I'm reminded of that promise and a great PEACE just comes over me and I'm no longer afraid. ~ Rose

Jesus is ~ Compassion

A verse about this: John 11, verse 33 - "When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled."
How I have seen it in my own life: It is extremely comforting to know that Jesus holds my hand through all the sad moments of this life. I have felt His relieving touch and I have heard His consoling voice during all my troubles and griefs. His powerful presence eased all the pains of my heart. ~ Tabita

Jesus is ~ Truth
A verse about this: John 14:6 ~ "Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man cometh unto the Father but by Me."
How I have seen this in my own life: My name means "Truthful One" and so it has always been a main focus in my life. Jesus is Truth, He cannot lie. Amidst a world of inconsistency, Jesus always remains consistent with His character. There is a right and a wrong, there is righteousness and sin. I'm so thankful for the Holy Spirit Who works with my conscience to warn me of falsehood and show me what is Truth. Satan would love to have me buy into the many lies in this world, so I need to always be on guard, filling my mind with the Truth of God's
Word. Oh, to be able to cling to Jesus Who is Truth and His promises which are Truth in a world of lies and falsehood! I cling to His promises when going through hard times and thus am able to go through trials with Joy. Jesus is always true to me, may I always be true to Him. ~ Alyssa

Jesus is ~ Fearless

A verse about this: "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
How I have seen this in my own life: Recently God's really been impressing on my heart how fearless His is. He was persecuted but never did He cower in the corner in fear. He cried out to God for strength, but He never said "God I am afraid; I can't." He faced death without fear; why would He? He knows He is going to conquer all. It is so good to be lead by a fearless leader. Because He has no fear, I know I have no reason to fear. ~ Savannah

Jesus is ~ Forgiving

~A verse about it: "...saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more." Jeremiah 31:34
~How I have seen this in my own life: It's so easy to see Jesus' forgiveness towards me, in my life, everyday, because I know I couldn't make it through one day without it!! :) And it's so incredible to me that no matter what mistake I make, such a perfect, righteous God is ALWAYS ready to forgive me, even knowing I'll make many more! ~ Maddie

Jesus is ~ Peace

A verse that talks about this: “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
How I have seen this in my own life: The Lord has shown me time and again that true peace comes from living in harmony with Him, that it isn’t the absence of conflict but the fullness of dwelling in His presence. Over the years, He has made me content to live with a brittle bones disease. He has kept me joyful after nearly five years of living with a constant headache that no one can ease or even explain. And He has helped me to stand firm as a crisis threatens our family. The Lord has filled my life with many things I wouldn’t have freely chosen. But now I can’t thank Him enough, because through them I have come to see Jesus as my Prince of Peace. This doesn’t mean I won’t feel pain or grieve or cry out in anguish. But it does mean that no trial will ever take me beyond the reach of His peace and joy. ~ Grace

Jesus is ~ Unconditional Love

A verse that talks about this:
Romans 8:38-39: “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
How I have seen this in my own life: The fact that Jesus’ love for me is unconditional is so comforting. Romans 8:38-39 reminds me that nothing and no one can stop God from loving me. Events and circumstances in my life don’t determine His love for me. No one will ever come between us to stop His love or to convince Him not to love me. I can’t even stop Christ’s love for me. Because I am forever saved from sin and wrapped in Christ’s righteousness, nothing I say or do can make Him love me less or more. It’s not based on my performance or merits. Even when I don’t love Him as I should, Jesus still loves me. I have come to love to rest in the knowledge that nothing can separate me for Christ’s unconditional love for me. ~ Brittany

Jesus is ~ Wise

A verse that talks about this: James 1:5, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."
How I have seen this in my own life: This character trait and verse have been very meaningful to me for a long time because I have always "lacked wisdom". I think God made me this way, so that I would learn to trust him and His wisdom instead of my own! It is so amazing to me that all we have to do is ask for it and he will give it to us. I have seen God work through my gullibility and show me how to make good decisions for his glory and my joy! ~ Nadia

Jesus is ~ Always Near

How I have seen this in my own life: It is such a comforting thought that I am never alone. He is always with me. NO EXCEPTION!! If I am doing work at home or worshipping Him at church or going to sleep, I am never alone. If I am in the United States of America or Australia, on the ground or in the air, awake or asleep, I have a friend that sticks closer than a brother who never leaves me or forsakes me (Heb. 13:5b). I praise God that no matter what I am facing, whether it be joy or sorrow, He will never leave me to face it alone. Thank you, Lord, for always being near to me! ~ Alyssa

Jesus is ~ Holy

A verse about this: "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me." Psalm 66:18
How I have seen this in my own life: There are times and choices in my life where I am tempted to "take advantage" of the mercy, and grace and sacrifice of our Lord and instead of thirsting after righteousness, I search for gratification. When I think on the holiness of our God, and his great, loving, indescribable redemption, the things of this world truly do grow dim, if even for just the time I am pondering and I am grateful for His grace to me His great worth and holiness, driving me to rest on and be confident in Him and nothing else. I'm grateful that the above verse is followed, thanks alone to Christ Jesus, by verse 19: "But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer." Hallelujah! ~ Bethany

Jesus is ~ Trustworthy

How I have seen this in my own life: Jesus continues to teach me that I can put my trust in Him, and in Him alone. When everything else feels as though it is falling apart in my life, God puts His arms around me. He reminds me that He is still there for me, and that I am His princess. Jesus really seems to enjoy surprising me

Jesus is ~ Compassion
How I have seen this in my life: This characteristic of the Lord has grown so dear to me, especially recently. There have been many changes in my life, and I am realizing in a much deeper way how much I need my Shepherd every single moment and depend on Him for everything. He is merciful with His children and delights to provide for our needs. It is humbling because I see my own weakness and constant reliance on Him, yet He does not give His grace begrudgingly! On the contrary, He tenderly loves us and, as I said earlier, delights to help us in our weakness. What a gracious, loving Lord and Savior He is! Praise the Lord! ~ Cara

Jesus is ~ Truth
Verses that talk about this: Psalm 100:5, “For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.” Psalm 108:4, “For Your mercy is great above the heavens, and Your truth reaches to the clouds.”
How I have seen this in my own life: God’s deep, unchanging truth is an incredible source of comfort to me in today’s deceit-poisoned culture. All around are false ideas and concepts which go against God’s Word, whether blatantly or subtly. The fact that God is purely and wholly truth becomes a steadfast anchor amidst the sea of lies, and causes me to want to know and love Him more.
In my own life, whenever I am going through a difficult time, or having trouble understanding an issue, God’s truths are there to guide me. They are everlasting and unchanging and perfect in every way. I love the way His truth encourages, teaches, motivates, and convicts me –it’s incredible!
As a result, I have purposed to be fully dedicated to God’s truth all my days and to walk in it as it says in Psalm 86:11 “Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth…” ~ Lydia

Jesus is ~ Strength
A verse that talks about this: "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him..." 2 Chronicles 6:9
How I have seen this in my own life: I cannot help but boast of the incredible strength and power of my Savior; how He has redeemed me by His strength and how He is able to show His strength daily in my life if I am fully allowing Him to.
I am learning to not relay on my own strength to help me live victoriously, but day by day, to surrender my own will and live in the joy that comes from letting Jesus shine forth His power in my life!
In my own power I can do nothing, but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! ~ Sophia

Jesus is ~ Comfort

A verse that talks about this: Isaiah 49:13, "Shout for joy, O heavens! And rejoice, O earth! Break forth into joyful shouting, O mountains! For the LORD has comforted His people And will have compassion on His afflicted."
How I have it in my own life - I am amazed when I look at all the ways in which Jesus has shown Himself to be my Great Comforter on a daily basis! I first experienced this blessing at the age of ten, when I suddenly began to experience significant back pain. It would be three years before surgery would correct the problem, and a total of seven years before the pain would relent completely. However, during this time the Lord taught me to cling to Him in a way that I had never before experienced. He surrounded me with His love and comforted me through Scripture and the words of His Spirit. Then, just as the Lord began to heal my body from pain, I developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. After nearly two years of dealing with this illness, I can say once again that I have seen the comforting hand of the Lord everyday. I truly believe that He alone grants strength for each day and joy in affliction. ~ Mandy

Jesus is ~ Victorious
A verse about this: 1 Corinthians 15:57 "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
How I have seen this in my own life: There have been many times in my life when a spiritual battle has been raging, but Jesus has always been there for me! Even when I fail Him, and don't have the faith I should, He is there to sustain me and help me claim victory in His name. Sometimes He has been there for me in obvious - even miraculous - ways, but I'm sure there have been many times when I have not even realized He was fighting for me! If we only humble ourselves and submit to God (James 4:6,7) we can be victorious through Jesus Christ! ~ Hannah

Jesus is ~ Redemptive Love
A verse about this: "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name… who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy…" Psalm 103:1, 4
How I have seen this in my own life: The Lord has lately been showing me how transforming it is to look at life through the gospel… I was dead in my sins and had turned away from the Living God (Rom 3:10-12). I didn’t deserve forgiveness nor could I expect to be loved… yet God looked upon me… Jesus lovingly redeemed my life from a dark pit, brought me to the Father, and set upon me a crown of His love!!!

Jesus is ~ Our Refuge

What I love about Jesus: He is my constant refuge.
A verse about this: "Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us." Psalm 62:8
How I have seen this in my own life: It has brought me so much comfort to know that I can go to Jesus with anything at anytime! He is just waiting and longing for me to run into His open arms and pour out my soul to Him. I've found that when life (or my emotions) is like a roller-coaster, it is more satisfying to fix my eyes on my Savior and His faithfulness in my life, than to focus on myself or my problems. And when I choose to cast my cares at His feet, my heavenly Father gives me the grace to praise Him, even when I don't feel like it. And in turn, He overflows my heart with His peace and joy! ~ Bailey

Jesus is ~ Patient
What I love about Jesus: His never-ending patience.
A verse about this: "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him." Lamentations 3:22-24
How I have seen this in my own life: It amazes me that the Lord never gets annoyed or exasperated with me and just gives up on me. No matter how many times I forget Who He is and what He has done for me; no matter how many times I turn away from Him, doubt His presence, forget to pray, neglect His Word or fear to trust Him, He remains steadfast, loving and merciful toward me. It is a beautiful and hope-filled promise, especially on days when I feel like a complete failure, that His mercies are new every morning...we will never wear them out or dry them up! ~ Kelsey

Jesus is ~ Steadfast

What I love about Jesus: His steadfastness.
A verse about this: "From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I." Pslam 61:2
How I have seen this in my own life: I have seen His steadfastness so many times in my life in different physical examples. But as this verse says, I've seen it especially in my heart. When I feel burdened by this world or my sin, I know that I can run to His loving fortress and find comfort and truth within His Word of promises. Jesus is so faithful to me! ~ Alyssa

Jesus is ~ Sovereign

~A verse about this: "Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?" Jeremiah 32:27
~ How I have seen it in my own life: The sovereignty of God is manifested in every last detail of my life, and that is what makes it so amazing! Jesus knows everything, has complete authority over everything, and has complete power to accomplish His will in everything! Jesus’ will is always accomplished because He is always, perfectly, in control over everything!
Knowing that Jesus is sovereign allows me to trust Him with my life- in every area because not only is He Lord over me, but He is Lord over everything else in the universe, too.Believing that allows me to live boldly and without fear. It frees me from worry, and allows me to trust Jesus with the outcome of my life. The only thing I need to focus on is living in obedience to His will as revealed in His Word- not how circumstances in my life will work out if I do. But what I really love about Jesus’ sovereignty is that it causes me to draw closer to Him. It forces me to depend on Him, because I know that I am not in control. ~ Rachel

Jesus is ~ Our Ultimate Example
~ What I love about Jesus: His Ultimate Example of Submission to His Father
~A verse about this: Christ “went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.... O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.” (Matthew 26:39,42)
~ How I have seen it in my own life: In Christ's incarnation, I am amazed by the depths of submission Jesus Christ displayed through leaving His robes of glory (Colossians 1:15-19), entering humanity (Colossians 1:20), and then taking the full force of God's just wrath (1 John 4:10), to become the propitiation for our righteousness (Romans 3:25). What wondrous love and submission He showed toward His Father—giving to me a beautiful example to follow, by His redeeming grace. The submission of Christ gives me hope and strength as He leads me by the hand (“I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee” -Isaiah 42:6), through whatever trials or sacrifices the path holds (1 Peter 2:21)—He alone is sufficient for me. What a wonderful Savior we have been given in the Son of God! ~ Sarah

Jesus is ~ Merciful Kindness

How I have known this in my own life: Recently I have realized more and more just how great the Lord's merciful kindness is towards me! It's ALL because of His merciful kindness that I am saved, and have a relationship with Him! ~ Isabella

Jesus is ~ Everlasting Love

One thing I love about Jesus: His everlasting love
A verse that talks about this: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you." (Jeremiah 31:3)

Jesus is ~ Faithful
How I have seen it in my own life: Jesus has always been faithful to me. This past year I have had a lot of decisions to make and more than once God has answered very specific prayers, some even on the very same day I went to Him with the request! I have also seen His faithfulness in my own shortcomings. Even when I do not live up to His perfect standard, He has been faithful to forgive and restore the fellowship that He called me into. This has only made me more in awe of my Savior who loves me unconditionally because He loved me even before I loved Him. ~ Kayla

Jesus is ~ our Provider

~ One thing you love about Jesus: He is our Provider.
~ A verse that talks about that: "For your Father knows what you need before you ask Him." Matthew 6:8b
~ How you have known this about Jesus in your own life?
The Lord is my faithful Provider. Recently when I prayed for two specific things, He provided in His way and at the time I needed them. It reminds me, He sees my past, present and future all at the same time and therefore knows exactly what is needed for each day. I have also been in awe of Jesus when He provides, and I am not aware ahead of time of the need I have. It is a gift to rest in my Heavenly Father's care for my life as His daughter. ~ Elizabeth

Knowing Jesus' Love and Loving Him in Return
For a moment, stop and think about someone you know who loves you very, very much... Then multiply that by a zillion and you only begin to get a tiny picture of Jesus' love for you.
This love is what you were created for. I can tell you from personal experience that it is when you truly understand and embrace His love, it satisfies your heart, transforms your life, and makes you love Him in return. "We love Him because He first loved us..." 1 John 4:19
Look at these amazing verses from the greatest love letter of all time - the Bible:
~ "The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." Zeph. 3:17
~ "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
Living daily in the reality of Jesus' love is so incredible and important! It will color all of your life in amazing ways. A heart that is growing in being satisfied and filled with Jesus' love will more naturally experience joy, desire to please Him, be less temptation by sin, love others, and love Him in return. Friends, this is where you were meant to live!
We need to be aware that there are other things that will try to steal our love from Jesus and lie to us that they will satisfy more than Him. But we were created for Jesus and His love - and nothing less will ever satisfy! To live in Jesus' love and increase our love for Him, we must turn from things that lessen or steal our love for Jesus, and pursue things that help us know and love Him more.
These are things that are majorly helpful to me on a regular basis in living in Jesus' love and loving Him in return:
*I am inviting you to join me and others in taking the next month to focus on loving Jesus more by doing this - thinking about and praising Jesus for who He is. Each day, there will be a post on the blog about one aspect of who He is - and many other young women seeking to love Him will be joining us!!!
As you grow in understanding His love, living in the reality of it, and loving Him in return, you will be able to echo these words, "Because your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you." Psalm 63:3
May you be deeply blessed as you know the love of our Jesus and to love Him in return!
Treasuring His love and loving Him with you,
"Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." 1 Cor. 2:9

A Relationship of Love with Jesus
Blessings as you know the love of our amazing Jesus and love Him in return, dear sisters!
